What customers are searching for
Last week we presented PantherMedia on the German trade fair PICTAday. We were engaged in many discussions with our existing and potential new customers and received some valuable feedback. Thus, we found out some niches our customers demand, but in the context of these the supply is short. Please have a look at customers' demand and take a chance to increase sales:
• Young adults in their phase between school and job
• Various religions illustrated in just one image
• Sociocritical images (integration in schools and generally, handicapped people, government subsidised jobs, etc.)
• Illness and symptoms (arthrosis, gout, rheumatism, etc.)
• Humorous images So be creative and open for new subjects, even if these don’t exactly conform to the typical cliché of stock images which communicate the ideal world with happy and pretty people. We are looking forward to your images!
Use our new platform Ultimago for additional sources of income
Since February this year, Ultimago.com is the new subscription platform for royalty-free images.
While Ultimago is allowing free downloads for private use only (5 per day), Ultimago earns money with membership fees for business licences, advertising and donations. All income is shared 50% per download with the contributor! Basically, it's a subscription model with private and business income.
All images are welcome, e.g. images that compete for years within the mass of stock images unsuccessfully, or which have been rejected and were just not uploaded. Or maybe there are still plenty of images slumbering on your hard disk…just upload these at Ultimago and benefit from the income.
You have images at PantherMedia that you would like to share? Then you can select your portfolio e.g. by date (eldest first) or by number of sales (lowest first) and transfer these to Ultimago with just one click. Get an account at ultimago.com, verify, connect your account with your PantherMedia credentials and import directly from PantherMedia into Ultimago.
Our first monthly payout was 0,50 Euro per download!!

Pimp up your portraits
Benefit from our tips for better portrait shots! ![Benefit from our tips for better portrait shots!]()
Tip 1: Choose unique perspectives Try to find new perspectives to shoot your portraits, e.g. get on your knees, step up a bench, try different angles... Tip 2: Capture emotions Prepare everything for a relaxed atmosphere to make the model feel comfortable. Crack a little joke to make the model smile and then release the shutter…and you will have a natural and emotional portrait. Tip 3: Creative image composition Structure your images creatively. Vary the shot, play with distances and create your own little work of art. Tipp 4: Focus on the model Operate with a large aperture to decrease the depth of field of focus in the background. Thus, the model is set apart from the background and stands out. Tip 5: Image editing Your photo is ready for the fine tuning now. Intensify the contrast, experiment with colours, remove spots or skin blemishes. There you go, it is finished! Please note: Customers often need some copyspace for their marketing message, so don’t forget to include this in the image.
Legal information: Be careful with logos
Logos are generally protected by trademark or copyright regulations. To offer images for commercial use, you have to retouch the logos for your own legal protection. Moreover there are typical indicators for a lot of brands which have to be retouched as well, e.g. the three stripes of a leading producer of sports goods. Even if the indicators or logos are very small, as soon as they are recognizable, you have to retouch. The only exception are logos as part of a panoramic view of a city, e.g. in a pedestrian area. Enjoy taking and editing your photos! We are looking forward to receiving new images every day! |
